Venue

Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing

The Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing Hotel is located in the heart of the historic miles in Philadelphia. From the hotel room, you can see the stunning city and water views. Just steps away, you can explore the icons of our nationÕ's foundation, such as the Liberty Bell Center, the Independence Hall, the Betsy Ross House, the National Constitution Center or the Old City Philadelphia. The hotel is surrounded by numerous galleries and boutiques, theaters, shops, restaurants and an intriguing nightlife. The Philadelphia SEPTA subways and buses are also within a couple of blocks of the hotel, allowing you to experience downtown Philadelphia from an exceptional location.

Plenary sessions will be held in the adjacent Seaport Museum. Founded in 1960, the museum is the region's primary repository of art, artifacts and archival materials documenting the diverse maritime history of the Greater Delaware Valley, and the history of the Port of Philadelphia and the other major urban ports of the Delaware River.

Why stay at the conference hotel?

The hotel is the center of conference activity. This is where you meet people to network, collaborate, or just have fun. Staying elsewhere, you will miss the chance to run into other attendees in the off hours and strike a conversation that will open up a new research direction.

We have a packed program that will keep you busy all day. If you are staying at the conference hotel, you will easily be able to sneak out to your room should the need arise. If you are staying elsewhere, it is much more difficult without missing some fun activity. You'll have to carry everything you need for the day with you, and then watch over it. If you are staying at the conference hotel, you can leave everything in your room and fetch things as you need them.

Yes, you may be able to find cheaper rooms elsewhere in the city - but, most likely, not in the immediate vicinity of the conference hotel. And they are unlikely to be as comfortable or as perfectly located.

As is common for conferences organized in the US, we had to guarantee that a certain number of attendees will stay at the hotel, in order to secure meeting space at lower cost. The hotel also offers a generously discounted room rate for conference attendees.

Occasionally, you may be able to find a better promotional rate elsewhere on the web. By all means, please make use of it. However, please mention that you are attending the conference when you make a reservation or check in. Your stay will still count towards CPS Week room block.

The conference leaders have taken their role of finding a conference site very seriously. They looked at a number of locations. The needs of attendees as individuals in addition to the conference meeting space were considered.
